InOut

I see two cars
one going one coming
neither one is certain
of what the other
will do Here in
this parking lot isn’t
this very little moment
what life’s all about
One in One out
and so we go

Perhaps

My heart aches for
those who don’t know
Imagine being so ignorant
that you don’t realize
Perhaps it is better
being so absolutely oblivious
Perhaps just maybe perhaps
the day is mystery

It’sNeverYou

Imagine being told no
but then it’s yes
Imagine all the questions
why not what happened
Imagine feeling I’m not
imagine feeling all that
Oh my God that
hurts
Hurts
How does one ever
Ever
recoil from their ever
Now let’s calm down
it’s not you it’s
never ever you really
remember that it’s them
And there’s the rub
Right
But how and maybe
when right should you
expect to be enough
You are always enough
it’s just that they
can not accommodate you

MorningsBallet

With coffee on board
and dressed in jammies
I settle down to
watch the kaleidoscope morning
sky spin and twirl
with the same unabashed
excitement as schoolgirl
ballet performers unashamedly free
if I listen closely
enough I can hear
giggles of glee as
the clouds open to
sunlight like those same
children’s smiles upon hearing
the applause from parents
and siblings and friends
Oh that coffee’s hot
What a marvelous morning

WannaHearAJoke

Here’s the punch line
ahead of the joke
You have no idea
Before the world was
what the world is
it was definitely different
Firstly you were taught
you were taught things
important things like respect
and honor and kindness
and loyalty and compassion
and oh geez manners
But now now what
do we have we
have dropouts not from
school but from the
lessons of life that
in fact and before
everyone found essentially important
to living a life
true to humanity itself
So what’s the joke
this is the joke
