Sandbox

And in a

Few hours we’ll

Meet and play

In our sandbox

Creating castles and

Moats to ward

Off challenging armies

We’ll growl like

Bulldozers puff like

Trucks dig and

Sculpt mountains and

Valleys sit back

And relish in

Our world like

God did eons

Ago in creation

Fear

Sometimes in life

We fight so

Hard against what

We fear that

We miss any

Enjoyment there instead

Turn and face

Your fears because

They’re only in

Your mind and

Not in the

World quiet your

Fears by facing

Them knowing that

Everyone else is

Afraid of you

Friendship (to my friends)

The joy of

Friendship is often

Felt yet rarely

Seen it arrive

Quickly like snowdrops

Popping through April

Snow shades like

Oaks on hot

July afternoons leaps

Like October leaves

And blankets like

January snow and

Through these all

The roots continues

To spread assuring

That not even

Typhoons can topple

What we are

AndItCame (to Brandon)

And in my

Sleep it came

Carried on the

Wings of angels

Insight and rest

It bathed me

In understanding like

A warm robe

After cool bath

We’re friends friends

That love kiss

And enjoy each

Others company we

Are tending each

Other like plants

Watering and pruning

Watching the other

Grow and Blossom

There’s no label

Or expectation simply

The knowledge that

We’re in each

Others lives and

This brings joy

AgainIceCream

I didn’t want

A lover so

My disappointment is

Minor oh yes

We played house

And created a

World but then

I realized that

You’re distracted with

Your own life

And me just

A treat like

Ice cream upon

Which to lick
