SandWater

And like water

Added to sand

You sit there

Inside me being

You and making

Me from dryness

Into a pool

Where birds splash

And fish swim

And I you

Too give you

A reason to

Be something other

Than what you

Originally have been

Marvelous

And there are

Buds and there

Are blossoms there

Are snowflakes and

There are snowstorms

There are pennies

And there are

Dollars yet the

Greater isn’t better

It’s simply grander

Everything starts the

Other usually as

One simple thing

Joined by others

Such is love

Such is life

Be the first

Thing and others

Will join you

Creating something marvelous

QuiteAnother

And yet again

I am that

Bear the boy

Outgrew the bike

The girl forgot

The letter unopened

And the ornaments

Stowed in attic

I’m the deserted

Baseball field the

Empty beach the

Quiet carnival and

The vacant bigtop

I am alone

Once being something

Now quite another

Growth (to Jay)

There is but

One simple truth

My dear boy

We are either

Growing or we’re

Dying there’s no

Middle ground move

From bear to bike

To car to

Boy and be

Your best self

That’s what you

Have to do

Time

Oh don’t you

Know that it

Takes time for

A bulb to

Become a blossom

Or an acorn

To spread its

Canopy so why

Do we insist

That anything including

Love is immediate

Plant the seeds

Of curiosity water

Them with affection

And after time

A bouquet appears
