I am now
three seasons in
and ready for
my fourth the
fourth being the
most majestic of
all here in
the Rocky Mountains
and I like
a child waiting
gleeful and giddy
for the mountains
to erupt in
red yellow orange
changing from the
lazy humpback whales
swimming up and
down the coast
into Chinese fans
flicking their colors
with such abandon
again happily alive

When I was younger
I bent my bicycle
tire funny thing about
bicycle tires once bent
they will never be
true again unlike people
you can’t straighten out
a bent bicycle tire
but bent people can
I have learned to
never assume that your
being bent now is
being bent forever for
being true unlike bicycle
tires means being honest
with yourself and while
you may wobble at
first you will surely
eventually glide down the
hill feeling the wind
Dreamers
It’s funny
this growth
I now
finally realize
that having
dreams and
making them
come true
are different
I dream
we dream
but making
requires a
march a
campaign usually
much longer
than planned
with retreats
and obstacles
sieges seizing
finally victorious
and taking
their spoils
carry on
my dreamers
make happen

Having crawled
back from
the abyss
and having
been one
to have
fallen in
I know
too well
the voice
of friends
from above
hey you
got this
prayers don’t
always come
from within
Pond
There are
some things
that I
want to
talk about
but their
mere thought
are boulders
dropping into
an otherwise
sanguine pond
disrupting even
those things
thought invincible
it’s best
me thinks
to be
the boulder
and let
it remain
where it
has landed
I pond
will recover
