I’ve lived several lives
This life time around
Each one an adventure
Full of awed inspiration
Of amazing beauty and
Hours of quiet contemplation
I chased my dreams
And made them reality
Realizing that the true
Strength in life is
Not just having dreams
But recognizing when you
Capture them giving room
To dream yet again
It’s all in place
Like a child in
The womb I’ve grown
Even at my age
And now I float
About waiting like I
Imagine my soul did
Where ever souls wait
Before I was born
And just like that
I wonder like I
Imagine my soul wondered
When suddenly the doorbell
Will ring I answer
Whether it be hello
Or it’s a boy
Doesn’t really matter anymore
We almost lost everything
A mutiny was underway
Led by a despot
And joined by lunatics
Marching through the streets
Pitchforks and baseball bats
Weaponizing their own theology
Storming our democracy’s ideals
Pounding at the bastion
Praying for a miracle
And one indeed came
The same as Iran
The same as Russia
The same as Ukraine
GenZ took up arms
And claimed their future
Thank you worldwide GenZ
Earth belongs to you
I think that we
Will still write after
We die just as
We wrote before born
You see we have
Stardust on our fingertips
And once again above
Just watch the sky
For there we will
Write across the heavens
About all the happiness
That we had made
This time around for
The universe to read
What keeps love young
Because the same love
That you feel for
Someone at eighteen feels
