Remember

It’s the time now

To remember and reflect

All of the good

So set aside bad

Like tucking away seldom

Used spices behind those

Fondly often reached for

Time to turn pages

Of their scrapbook and

Entertain all the joy

That they brought and

Left behind like toys

Once played with but

Now suddenly gone silent

Gone

Some just can’t stay

It’s a lesson learned

Likely as a child

For me it was

Spike a roughhousing cat

Why he had to

Go I’ll never know

And throughout my life

Others followed him to

Where I’ll never know

But as I age

I do know this

That wherever they have

Gone that I will

Too one day follow

ToYouWhoReadMe

I don’t know who

You are but only

Where you are and

Knowing that allows me

To kinda know you

Just a little bit

Know this I see

When you read me

And know this too

Even though we don’t

Know each other you

Know a very very

Special part of me

So whomever you are

In this big world

You are my friend

AutumnAgain

There’s something about fall

That brings such comfort

Brilliant colors and awe

Trees exploding like fireworks

That last for days

Of layers put on

And eventually taken off

Like the armor we

Wear before meeting someone

And the nakedness after

Of once cold drinks

Migrating to warmer ones

While anticipating the holidays

We live in such

A fast world that

Autumn slows down reminding

That change brings beauty

LoverSeason 🍂🫂

Fall fell today

Time to change

To huddle cuddling

Of weathers sweaters

Of twinkling piano

Lazily wafting overhead

Overheard above crackling

And spitting fires

Swooning and sweeping

Orange and red

Across the room

And whiskey neat

As we’re given

Another good reason

To move closer

Together as though

We need one
