MorningHere

The day starts

As a glow

Like a lamp

In a far

Off window getting

Brighter as one

Approaches the blackness

Hums with light

Trees cut-out silhouettes

Stand dark against

The bluing sky

Now an orchestra

Plays mornings melody

Crickets and birds

In soft harmony

MorningsParfait

The mornings sky

Is heavy with

Cream like my

Mother shaved off

Milk and added

Strawberries for breakfast

Thick with dollops

Of clouds the

Blueest of blueberries

Begins to peak

Through as they

Did when I

Was a child

Not knowing my

Mother buried them

A sweet surprise

HappyFatherDaddyDay

Fathers and Daddies

Men that teach

Guide and groom

Boys to men

One day a

Special day recognizes

Those things passed

Down like a

Baton in life’s

Relay race sometime

Dropped yet always

Finished remember those

That made you

You

Happy Father/Daddy day

Morning

The morning is

As peaceful as

A cemetery everyone

Is staying home

Including those under

Earth even the

Ghouls have lost

Their voices instead

Flying about silently

Tree

And there I

Found you in

The forest glen

Standing tall majestic

Tree limbs spread

Like many arms

Cut you down

I did and

Made you mine

Decorated you with

Memories and small

Star like lights

Sang to you

Surrounded you with

Gifts tied in

Pretty colors and

Then after the

Season I undressed

You and left

You curbside why

Do I waste

Such beauty on

My own folly
