DinnerWithMe

Everyone spills something eventually

The tea about others

The beans about themselves

Actually people love spilling

Tea it’s a pastime

But oh the beans

One has to practically

Be a dentist sometimes

To yank the truth

Out of peoples mouths

I just don’t understand

Why spreading lies is

Such folly for folks

But telling on themselves

Is near to impossible

Give me the bean

Burrito skip the tea

EnoughEnough

When you say that

You love someone else

What you are really

Saying is that they’re

Enough enough for you

Perfect enough pretty enough

Funny enough kissable enough

They are not everything

What they likely are

Is everything you aren’t

And more than enough

HereItComes

Expect me to vomit

Hold the bag steady

It’s going to come

Out wave after wave

I’ve kept it in

For a long time

Keep your distance stand

Clear because it’s coming

Poisoned memories heartbreak disillusion

One heave after another

Like unloading the corpses

HangoverExpected

I will need time

After spinning so long

Like a goofy child

Falling to the ground

Watching the world fly

Like knowing I shouldn’t

But yes I did

Drink that last Manhattan

Now not even familiar

Seems similar to anything

Let me find bed

And sleep off the

Past few hard years

And emerge no worse

For the wear there

Melancholy

Sometimes things just don’t

Dreams so often hoped

Situations that appear great

Someone that surprised you

Someplace stumbled upon accidentally

All seem right then

But don’t turn out

Like parties nobody attends

Like gifts never wanted

But always lovingly given

Or like Christmas Eve

Snow that never arrives

Right guy wrong time

These are some disappointments

That’re best left behind
