TooSoonTooFast

I remember simpler times

Times when what we

Knew was limited and

What we didn’t was

Found in books and

Imaginations tucked deeply away

On lonely dark shelves

Today knowledge is immediate

But wisdom whether about

Another or a thing

Requires time and experience

The mind is an

Entitled child taking discarding

Barely opened things but

The heart from where

Wisdom flows is ever

But an elder rocking

On a porch somewhere

Recalling recounting and remembering

The wrongs they did

DisSins

And yes once again

I had my nightmares

Of greed and power

But they weren’t mine

I simply facilitated them

By my own dis-sins

Of disinterest and disloyalty

Dishonesty and disturbance

Disprove disarm and disgrace

Distant dislike and disappoint

Aren’t we all culprits

In crimes we allow

By disavowing the disemboweling

Of our own countrymen

Stand up stand together

And always stand strong

Against those who oppress

LateVirtues

I’ve always been blessed

But patience wasn’t included

I’m not sure why

Patience like other virtues

Like forgiveness and love

Seem to slowly blossom

Like late season hydrangeas

And remain long after

Our simple beauty fades

Perhaps late season virtues

Are those which carry

Us to Heavens gate

And let us in

OoofUghErMorning

Feeling like heavy crude

Freshly pumped from the

Wells of my nighttime

My mind needs refining

To remove the skeletal

Dreams laid waste there

Crushed by life’s pressure

And sifted through coffee

Causing me to cuckoo

Good morning to friends

Quake

Sometimes I do think

That when we argue

We aren’t pulling away

But rather pushing closer

Like earths tectonic plates

That when words fly

We’re doing nothing more

Than figuring out how

We can comfortably lay

Closer together not apart
