Candles

I awoke so happy

Like my twelfth birthday

When the perfect cake

Was placed before me

And the lit candles

Harbingers of my wishes

Eyes closed and blowing

Would certainly come true

That’s how I felt

Today knowing they had

MonkeyBars

You know that moment

When you just know

That gurgle those butterflies

You know but don’t

And you hesitate right

Before what is it

That makes you go

A kiss is nothing

More than monkey bars

At once on top

With no down below

Beneath just you and

There and then then

UntilThen

I saw you last

Night again last night

Not really met you

But certainly saw you

Sitting across from me

Just sitting here talking

And somewhere between work

And life between cereal

And juice it happened

The normal cadence of

Things when two things

Only know one thing

And that thing happens

I will meet you

One day until then

ISuppose

Having just run in

Or out of I

Suppose the rain which

Suddenly started after you

Said your last goodbye

Followed me in or

Out of I suppose

That same damn rainy

Place called broken hearts

WordDance

Oh now come on

Just one little step

That’s right stand up

Here take my hand

There you are here

We go now we’re

Dancing just you and

Me surrounded by others

They’re not looking at

You but I am

As you read these

Words and spin and

Dip and so gleefully

Abandonedly so happily laugh
