ThinkOfMe

And think of

Me like your

Cozy keeping you

Warm while the

Rest is cold

Think of me

As your mittens

Keeping your fingers

Together and protected

While shaping snowballs

Think of me

As your fan

Cooling you as

The heat of

The world makes

You sweat and

Finally think of

Me as your

Sleep bathing you

In such private

Things as dreams

Trust

And like a

Foundation trust is

Built stone by

Stone laid carefully

And mortared together

With time sometimes

However foundations become

Walls to keep

Things in or

Out same goes

For trust for

You see trusting

One doesn’t mean

That you trust

Another trying to

Pick apart that

Thing you built

EarlyMorning

The day starts

Quiet as still

As a country

Church faraway the

Drone of a

Highway is heard

Like an orchestra

Warming up before

The concert of

The morning commute

You begin to

Stir and sputter

Pulling yourself from

Your dreams depth

Like a swimmer

Close to drowning

My early morning

Kiss resuscitating you

EmptyPockets

You can offer

A man both

Bread and water

But if he’s

Not hungry or

Thirsty he won’t

Eat or drink

That does not

Mean that you

Withdraw your generosity

The Kingdoms of

Heaven aren’t filled

With those that

Took but rather

Those that offered

Remain steadfast in

Your offers for

Leaving this world

With empty pockets

Makes for a

Lighter ascent like

A balloon freed

Of its string

Reveal

I have learned

That in life

Mysteries are unveiled

Like dawn breaking

Over Honolulu ridges

Secrets appear quietly

Like fawns stepping

Free from brambles

At last exposed

Like a groundhog

Deciding whether to

Hide again or

Face the season
