Were compass in
Hand pointing west
Nary a storm
Approached strong winds
Set to sail
Moving we were
Excited we were
For the quest
Of each other
One month into
Our voyage and
No land in
Sight we’re simply
Drifting now through
The seas of
Mediocrity no sea
Monsters no storms
Just the lull
Of water slapping
Against the hull
Sometimes life is
A cheesecake and
Sometimes it’s a
Seven-layer salad
Whichever you happen
To be eating
Grab your fork
And dig in
Wantonly for both
Will satisfy your
