Sometimes we live
Life and love
To love and
Sometimes if we’re
Lucky we love
To live and
Sometimes luckily we
Live to love
Sometimes we live
Life and love
To love and
Sometimes if we’re
Lucky we love
To live and
Sometimes luckily we
Live to love
In life there
Is who you
Are and there
Is what you
Were meant to
Be
Like a hatchling
Fresh and new
Happy to live
In the nest
Suddenly realizing flight
Knowing then that
A bird is
What it was
Meant to always
Be
And talk we
Did like birds
On a wire
This discovery of
Each other like
Scouring a crime
Scene for clues
Led from one
Topic to another
Like hunting dogs
Catching one scent
After the next
Drilling down we
Did taking pebbles
Of life out
Of each other
Like the augers
Of natural attraction
And there it
Was an adventure
A piece of
Your car hanging
Like a dead
Carcass of something
That you plowed
Over unable to
Move you surgically
Removed it with
Scissors and on
Our way we
Went happier because
We not you
Climbed the smallest
Mountain I’ve seen
I have never
Seen two birds
Bump into each
Other in flight
We were lucky
Then to be
Humans instead of
Birds weren’t we
