SandWater

And like water

Added to sand

You sit there

Inside me being

You and making

Me from dryness

Into a pool

Where birds splash

And fish swim

And I you

Too give you

A reason to

Be something other

Than what you

Originally have been

Marvelous

And there are

Buds and there

Are blossoms there

Are snowflakes and

There are snowstorms

There are pennies

And there are

Dollars yet the

Greater isn’t better

It’s simply grander

Everything starts the

Other usually as

One simple thing

Joined by others

Such is love

Such is life

Be the first

Thing and others

Will join you

Creating something marvelous

WaggingLove

Oh I’ve been

Embarrassed and have

Felt the crimson

Grow like algae

On my cheeks

But I’ve never

Felt foolish to

Love for there

I am whole

Do not shy

Away from something

As simple for

Does a dog

Stop wagging its

Tail as soon

As you arrive

IAmNot

I’m that last

Child to be

Picked that bruised

Peach at the

Market that broken

Skate and lost

Key at once

Purposed and now

Purposeless I sit

And wait for

Someone to see

Me for what

I can be

Rather than what

I am not

QuiteAnother

And yet again

I am that

Bear the boy

Outgrew the bike

The girl forgot

The letter unopened

And the ornaments

Stowed in attic

I’m the deserted

Baseball field the

Empty beach the

Quiet carnival and

The vacant bigtop

I am alone

Once being something

Now quite another
