When I see
A tree I
See it’s canopy
Full and majestic
Like your smile
Further down is
Its trunk strong
And formidable like
Your body at
The bottom is
Its roots clenching
And vast just
Like your soul
When I see
A tree I
See it’s canopy
Full and majestic
Like your smile
Further down is
Its trunk strong
And formidable like
Your body at
The bottom is
Its roots clenching
And vast just
Like your soul
There is something
Giddy about newness
It’s fresh pure
Unknown and crisp
It’s uncertainly surprise
It’s discovery and
It’s a challenge
It’s whether or
Not something fits
Or maybe you
Change newness brings
Hope and happiness
If for moments
Or if it
Lasts and opens
Freshly daily like
Warm biscuits each
And every morning
And there you
Were a surprise
A Christmas cracker
Pretty and ready
To pop showering
Me with glitter
Pop you have
And now I’m
Sparkly and glowing
You’re like freshly
Baked cookies warm
And gooey warm
To the touch
With a bit
Of crunch when
Bitten you’re like
Those I like
Watching the new
Days sky glow
From black to
Blue is like
Catching snowflakes on
My tongue knowing
That tomorrow we
Will sled there’s
Hope in the
Sky that soon
Will come day
Sit in a
Different chair look
Out a different
Window eat a
Different meal sing
A different song
Love a different
Person and live
A different life
