When people don’t care
It’s hard to care
Back the heart is
Like a pond it

The shadow life warms
It’s really this simple

And disappointment at what
Didn’t work hadn’t happened
Has now turned into
What might just work

Positive things really do
Require our most might
We almost lost everything
A mutiny was underway
Led by a despot
And joined by lunatics
Marching through the streets
Pitchforks and baseball bats
Weaponizing their own theology
Storming our democracy’s ideals
Pounding at the bastion
Praying for a miracle
And one indeed came
The same as Iran
The same as Russia
The same as Ukraine
GenZ took up arms
And claimed their future

Love demands courage
It requires heart
