LateVirtues

I’ve always been blessed

But patience wasn’t included

I’m not sure why

Patience like other virtues

Like forgiveness and love

Seem to slowly blossom

Like late season hydrangeas

And remain long after

Our simple beauty fades

Perhaps late season virtues

Are those which carry

Us to Heavens gate

And let us in

OoofUghErMorning

Feeling like heavy crude

Freshly pumped from the

Wells of my nighttime

My mind needs refining

To remove the skeletal

Dreams laid waste there

Crushed by life’s pressure

And sifted through coffee

Causing me to cuckoo

Good morning to friends

Quake

Sometimes I do think

That when we argue

We aren’t pulling away

But rather pushing closer

Like earths tectonic plates

That when words fly

We’re doing nothing more

Than figuring out how

We can comfortably lay

Closer together not apart

CityJazzMorningCoffee

There is just something

About delicate jazz chilly

City mornings and coffee

It’s like home here

Wherever here may be

And when you come

Out to me swimming

In my sweatshirt and

Nothing else to kiss

Me and sip mine

And sit across me

I know this much

City jazz morning coffee

Is all the heaven

That I’ll ever need

DancingFingers

One of my favorite

Things about loving is

The knowing and understanding

Lovers have a shorthand

They way they touch

Look at each other

The variety of kisses

Always say much more

Than words ever could

So why are poets

Who use words simply

Always the best lovers

Easy because they’re used

To seeing their worlds

And telling of such

With their dancing fingers
