Fireflies

Love is like a

Firefly that we capture

With the hearts net

And that unlike those

In the wild never

Stop flickering until at

Last we eventually do

But they are released

Back into the wild

Flickering again until caught

Illuminating someone else’s heart

Intent

Why do some

Hide their intent

Squirrel it away

Like buried nuts

Don’t they understand

That they buried

Others alongside them

YouWhoBooHoo

Why oh why

Be someone else

Just be you

The you you

Said you were

When you said

You were you

But now that

You isn’t you

There’s this new

You the true

And real you

You now say

But that you

The before you

The trusted you

Is now the

What you that

You said was

You that’s not

Go to hell

Both of you

Truth

There is only one

Thing in the world

Which can never be

Submerged or buried forever

It’s called the truth

It’s either offered freely

Or answered when asked

Or ferments and rots

When attempting to hide

Appearing like a rash

Or like erupting boils

Sometimes like tree stumps

Or potholes which halt

Even the deepest hope

The thing about truth

Is that it is

Like water sent to

Cleanse erode or crack

The best built walls

There

I have no regrets

Because there are no

Mistakes everything has its

Purpose whether good or

Bad everything only ever

Does one simple thing

Getting you from here

To there and absolutely

Everywhere else in between
