RatherNot

Sometimes after a long

Day your voice envelopes

Me like a hot

Bath or warm blanket

Or a flickering candle

Making the wars of

Life disappear I run

To it drag myself

To it accept it

As my reward for

Doing all the things

I’d rather not do

ShortSweet

I keep getting distracted

By people or love

I will keep this

Short writing more tomorrow

When one or both

Will blossom or wither

LazyMaySunday

Today has been quiet

A lazy spring day

Filled with sunny windowsills

Comfy pillows on sofas

And cloud bursts that

Left sheets of rain

Sliding down patio doors

And of course us

Watching everything yawning

And turning and forgetting

Those outside things paying

Attention only to this

Lazy Sunday in May

Eclectic

A hodgepodge of things

Thrown together oftentimes haphazardly

But frequently perfectly matched

Like a hearty stew

Or a room full

Of disparate pieces all

Complimenting the other in

Delicate ways the old

And the new blending

Together like loves watercolors

Creating something uniquely stunning

Order rising from chaos

Enlightenment

What is only real

Is what is seen

All else is fantasy

A conjuring of mind

Determining good and bad

In order to survive

In past and future

But simply being present

Living in the now

Requires only the eyes

Accepting what is seen

And declaring it beautiful
