Poems live like
Life they blink
And inhale exhale
And sigh sometimes
Roaring while at
Others weeping they
Are my children
Gaining friends on
Their own triumphs
And heartbreak theirs
One day they
Will all breathe
On their own
Poems live like
Life they blink
And inhale exhale
And sigh sometimes
Roaring while at
Others weeping they
Are my children
Gaining friends on
Their own triumphs
And heartbreak theirs
One day they
Will all breathe
On their own
The snow collected
Like halos around
Tree roots and
Toilet paper on
Eaves chill kept
It there until
Mid morning sun
Melted like a
Warming pan disappearing
Before my eyes
Like you did
Yesterday you too
Chilled by the
Frost of distance
Being one thing
And then another
First beautiful inspiration
And later something
Needed but invisible
The one beacon
Reminding me of
Hope during this
Fog of my
Daily life is
Your glowing smile
And your eyes
Which blink like
A ships lantern
Sending coded messages
Across the miles
I am here
And soon will
Be there safely
With you it
Says with winks
The one thing
That sickens me
About all this
Is your fear
Being translated into
Cowardice as though
Retreating is worse
Than running but
Taking two steps
Back away from
Me causes me
To stop to
Oh I don’t
Know wait or
Maybe follow or
Even maybe let
You go away
But when you
Run you know
That I can’t
Because it’s impossible
To run while
Holding my heart
Out in front
Love is love
It’s not really
Who but that
You do that
Matters love often
