Stickman

All these faces

And texts haunt

Me as though

I were chatting

With a magazine

Whatever happened to

Laughter across espresso

Or winks across

Crowded bars have

We but become

Two dimensional in

A three dimensional

World let me

Hear you and

Feel you and

Touch you to

Know you or

Are you no

Better than stickman

Ghosts

It is often

The ghost of

What once was

That haunts us

Not the who

Is right now

It’s very difficult

To see someone

As they are

Rather than what

They were so

Long ago when

You first met

Memory tends to

Favor the past

GoneGone

At last finally

When I close

My eyes it’s

Simply black and

Peaceful no more

Smiling memories or

Laughter I’m alone

With my empty

Mind no longer

Thinking about you

For now not

Only are you

Gone but you’re

Gone from me

Boo (to boo)

And he was

Black and young

And I was

White and old

But somewhere we

Found harmony an

Understanding that despite

Differences we complimented

Each other like

Piano keys and

There in sharps

And flats we

Made music heard

Only by us

I will never

Forget you boo

Seesaw

We played on

The seesaw up

And down and

Up and down

Laughing at how

Odd we were

Yet still balanced

But then one

Day there wasn’t

You across from

Me and I

Didn’t know how

To rise again

And then I

Discovered me alone

I pushed to

Stand and finally

My own balance

No more games

No more tipping

Just me there

On my own
