Hurricane II

The rain
comes in sheets
like linens snapping
on a clothes line
the wind whistles
and howls and
makes my dog
bark
streets still
deserted like a sci-fi
flick
an all-clear hasn’t
blown
it’s a tropical storm
not a missile
crisis

Hurricane

Rain is coming
they predict
a weeping rain
saturating the ground
loosening moorings
like getting
a divorce
It’s raining
now outside
my window
simply rain
without the hype
of a hurricane

Beach Bubbles

The beach
inspired me
all kinds of colors
and umbrellas
like a large
margarita
So many oiled
torso lying
on the sand
walruses seals
people
they shower
salt water
from bodies
like rinsing
babies
of bubbles

Lou

Lou is one
of those guys
that looks better
in person
Asian with pecan
shaped eyes of a
coffee bean brown
a toothy smile
that stretches
whenever he laughed
sitting next to me
his dusky blue shirt
and white shorts
were clean and crisp
like a freshly starched
uniform
the kiss was slow
like watching honey
or molasses and
soft like warm
towels

White Python

It’s nighttime
quiet the sheers
in my room pant
in the heat
and breezes
there’s a tossed
off sheet
at your feet
twisted and turned
like a white python
at your ankle
the twisting
and turning tells a story
of quickened kisses
hurried hands
and passion
