ChristmasPresents

Ah Christmas ho

Ho ho and

All of that

Besides the festivities

Christmas is really

About giving and

Less about receiving

After all God

Gave his only

Son to us

On that day

Remember that when

You give a

Present the present

That you receive

In return is

The surprise and

The glee and

The thank you

Which by the

Way doesn’t come

With the now

Famous return receipt

ThatSameLove

Love indeed is

Magical it can

Be seen felt

Or even tasted

It can be

Heard and said

Though itself is

Invisible what miracle

Such a thing

Is to be

Everywhere and

Nowhere at the

Exact same time

It’s always something

And never nothing

It’s always given

Often received frequently

Forgiven never forgotten

It’s sometimes laughing

Too often crying

You my dearest

Are that same

Love to me

ThisThingCalledLove

My dear boy

In the grand

Scheme of things

Little things matter

Most

A gaze a

Wink a smile

A glimmer of

Something or someone

All the invisible

Things that once

Said or seen

Missed or misread

Go away poof

But the only

Thing that remains

Is what spawned

Them all this

Thing called love

ChristmasTree (to Muenster❤️)

And ‘Ti’s the

Season when there

Stands in the

Corner or window

A memory thing

Decorated with lights

And balls sometimes

Popcorn and cranberries

Or candles candy

And kitsch it

Sits quietly absent

Of fanfare given

To royalty surrounded

By baubles trinkets

Toys all surprising

I simply stare

Watching the lights

Dance and bounce

Me surrounded by

Loved ones both

Past and present

This the long

Awaited time of

The Christmas tree

OfHavingLoved

One of the

Hardest things in

Life that I’ve

Learned is that

Those that love

Often and loose

Are plagued by

The memories of

Those sweeter times

At first those

Memories cause gut

Wrenching pain but

As time passes

The torture moves

From my mind

To my heart

Where they sing

The joyous songs

Of having loved

Bringing great comfort
