Toddler

I walk
like a toddler
but I walk
months ago
they replaced
my knee
a broken spring
and today
I walk
like a toddler

Roby

It’s his eyes
pecan shaped and
gray like a timber
wolf mesmerizing
that drew me in
like the songs of
sirens
his smile is broad
and toothy it’s his giggle
that makes me giggle
like ripples in a pond
it’s the questions he asks
which tickle me most
they’re silly
little
questions that make
me smile

Giant

Clouds race
by my windows
being swept by the
broom
of trade winds
an old blemish
Diamond Head
it’s a scar
which turns brown
in summer
all the houses
pay homage to
the giant

Window

Sitting in the window
cats on lazy
summer afternoons
I gaze out on Diamond
Head and Waikiki the
husk of a volcano
rises skyward like
a giant browned by
the sun

Tyler

We met across
an ocean of internet
a blip or a wink or a
hello
his name is Tyler
a boyish name for
collegiate star he stands tall
with a chest which fans
out onto powerful shoulders
armor is his belly
slender hips hold halves
of flesh behind
languid legs dissolve
into long feet
his whispers call me
across the oceans
prompting responses
from me
