Newness

There is something

Giddy about newness

It’s fresh pure

Unknown and crisp

It’s uncertainly surprise

It’s discovery and

It’s a challenge

It’s whether or

Not something fits

Or maybe you

Change newness brings

Hope and happiness

If for moments

Or if it

Lasts and opens

Freshly daily like

Warm biscuits each

And every morning

NotBaubles

How did we

Sneak up on

Each other how

Did this happen

To us friends

We were everything

Was fun and

Then yesterday we

Fought then realized

That we meant

More to each

Other like realizing

That we are

Copper painted gold

And not gold

Painted copper that

We’re really diamonds

And not just

Some sparkly baubles

Brief

And this morning

The memories started

Moments frozen pictures

Mostly laughing and

Smiling I don’t

Remember the sad

Parts why is

That we had

So so many

Maybe that’s why

It seems that

We were together

Only for a

Brief time now

Web

Just saw a

Fly get caught

In spiders web

And finally understood

Why the goodbye

You felt curious

And then caught

Cautious and then

Quietly painfully seduced

Struggling still you

Tried in vain

But in my

Web you remained

With nothing to

Do but die

I could have

Freed you but

Instead watched you

Struggle until goodbye

Slipped by and

I knew that

You didn’t belong

Just to me

Adventurer

And a bird

Brought back a

Branch filled with

Leaves like a

Talisman of peace

Bringing hope to

The sailor on

The open sea

There’s something there

Beyond his sight

It wasn’t land

But hope hope

That he’s finally

Found a place

To anchor down

And sailed he

Did until he

Stopped and declared

This is home
