CatCalls

When I think

Of you I

Think of myself

You mirror me

Though different it’s

Like prairie flowers

Recognizing each other

Have you never

Heard the whistles

On fields of

Flowers on warm

July afternoons it’s

Not the wind

But peonies lavender

And daisies catcalling

To each other

NewMorning

The night sky

Glows an iridescent

Blue like trout

Swimming in Colorado

Shimmering with the

Evening stars making

The horizon dance

Like the window

At Tiffany an

Orchestra of crickets

Chirp in harmony

As this new

Day slowly quietly

Twinkles to life

IDoLike

And there you

Were a surprise

A Christmas cracker

Pretty and ready

To pop showering

Me with glitter

Pop you have

And now I’m

Sparkly and glowing

You’re like freshly

Baked cookies warm

And gooey warm

To the touch

With a bit

Of crunch when

Bitten you’re like

Those I like

Daybreak

Watching the new

Days sky glow

From black to

Blue is like

Catching snowflakes on

My tongue knowing

That tomorrow we

Will sled there’s

Hope in the

Sky that soon

Will come day

LikeThatNovember

And into me

You breathed a

Fresh sweet air

Like standing on

A mountain top

And inhaling crispness

Like hungrily biting

Into that cool

Green apple feeling

The juice flow

Down your chin

I awaken now

With thoughts of

You and they

Bring me warmth

Like a hearth

Fire on a

Dark November night
