There was this one

Time under the sycamore

You were above me

On one elbow and

Looking down and just

As a late August

Breeze blew your flaxen

Hair from your face

At that same moment

The low afternoon sun

Caught the corner of

One of your eyes

And there then inside

I did see the

Deep blue pool of

Your soul and to

It’s bottom where I

Saw you swimming throughout

The eons of your

Lives and right then

I knew that like

Now we’d been together

And then taking my

Hand you said come

Swim with me and

I said just like

We’ve done so many

Times before and you

Said um yeah sure

It was that day

That I knew then

That only some of

Us are lucky enough

To remember the pasts

MorningMemories

It’s really only ever

The little simple things

Like the gurgle hiss

And spit of a

Kettle set to boil

As the first glow

Of day washes over

Last nights late snow

And chickadees bounce and

Bob skitter and slide

On the frozen birdbath

Like children wearing skates

As I spoon splash

And stir dark roast

Into a now warmed

Coffee press watching as

Grounds drop and emerge

Like we did that

One July day so

Very very long ago

In ponds out back

This is my morning

Of memories every day

EvenAfterEverAfter

Sometimes in my life

I stumble across a

Real one like opening

A picture book usually

Filled with pretty prince’s

All wishing for a

Happily ever after until

After doesn’t end happily

But you are different

Upon opening you popped

Up standing there amidst

The dragons sword drawn

And for the first time

I felt like maybe

Maybe some princes do

Keep their promises after

All that ever happens

MerryChristmas 🎄

And so it’s Christmas

I love this holiday

Even at my age

There’s something that happens

Around this time hope

Seems like it’s everywhere

I think that’s what

Christmas means to me

More than anything else

So I hope for

You wherever you are

When you read this

That whatever you wish

For will come true

Merry Christmas my friends

ChristmasBells

I came one place

And left behind another

One that was warm

To one that’s cold

But the funny thing

Is that here in

The cold and snow

I feel more warm

Than I ever did

When I was warmer

It’s what is inside

That counts not out

For smiles often are

Icy without the hugs

And well wishes cold

Without the caring felt

So for all those

Bandying about words of

Good cheer without meaning

Keep them for bells

Without sounds of ringing

Are just like anchors

Weighing everything else down
