Sometimes there are those

In life that say

Oh what the fuck

Grit teeth and jump

I’m one of those

Oh we get punched

Punished and usually bruised

We always stand up

We are driven to

Be different not because

We want to be

But because we can

And even still at

My older age I’d

Rather leap than stay

I don’t seek safety

I never ever have

You know every leaf

Is content being green

Because it doesn’t know

What fall feels like

And once it does

It’s never leaf again

It becomes something more

And so I go
