LikeDaffodils

The less that I
Insist that I am
The more that others
Show up the more
That I abandon what
I think and cross
Over to their side
And think a moment
Their way life opens
Like late winter daffodils
Stop being what you
Think that you are
And rather be who
They are looking for
Over there not here
Just like those crazy
Silly late winter flowers

Happeness

Knowing where one belongs

Is different from knowing

Ones place admitting what

Makes one sing is

More important than being

Able to sing being

Comfortable with nearly nothing

Is oftentimes calmer than

Seeking everything happiness should

Be spelt happeness for

I have found my

Greatest happiness when things

That make me happiest

Naturally quietly simply happen

ShinyPennies

I’m no longer afraid

Or angry oh yes

I retreated into myself

When like a turtle

I’d been touched too

Often by unfamiliar hands

But now time passed

And out I come

No longer wishing to

Impress but be impressed

Like a tarnished penny

Full of glee at

The sight of newly

Minted and shiny pennies

Oh aren’t they beautiful

Resolution

Here is my

New Year’s resolution

I promise myself

I will have

Peace love affection

Respect kindness compassion

Wit sarcasm frivolity

With whomever I

Ever do encounter

And that will

Bring us joy

And will bring

Us forever closer

And never apart

LeavingThings

I leave things behind

I do admit that

So so many things

So many in fact

That people become things

Too it’s not that

I wish to or

Want to or even

That I need to

I just do I

Guess because leaving things

All of these things

That I leave behind

Is because they belong

Where I found them

And frankly they’re not

Mine to take anywhere

I leave them there

Letting others find them

Just like I did
