True beauty is
Found in simplicity
Smiles and snowflakes
Winks and wisdom
Rainbows and rollercoasters
Things that make
You wonder things
That celebrate that
One simple thing
Possessed by children
Forgotten by adults
Called hopeful curiosity
True beauty is
Found in simplicity
Smiles and snowflakes
Winks and wisdom
Rainbows and rollercoasters
Things that make
You wonder things
That celebrate that
One simple thing
Possessed by children
Forgotten by adults
Called hopeful curiosity
In a grove
At the end
Of a prairie
Two trees stand
Strong their limbs
Entwined like a
Lovers embrace catching
A secret kiss
Now in October
They take turns
Changing their calico
Canopies from green
To auburn chagrin
Knowing that their
Secret love has
Been captured here
By this scribble
One of the
Hardest things is
That most don’t
Understand me they
Can’t see my
Colors or my
Vision except in
Words I try
To paint a
World not known
But like looking
Into the heavens
They point to
One sparkling dot
And say there
That is beautiful
Rather than oh
There and there
And like a
Man at a
Station waiting for
A train I
Wonder where it
Shall take me
I’ve booked my
Destination up in
Baby heaven years
Ago but the
Journey the places
The people are
Yet uncertain traveling
Lightly instead choosing
To leave the
Baggage of my
Past behind I
Shall collect now
Only those things
And those people
That I can
Carry either in
My pockets or
In my heart
And then from
Afar like a
Flashlight through trees
Or like a
Street lamp through
Dense fog or
Like a beacon
Perched high on
Some craggy cliffs
Your message found
Me taken by
Surprise I answered
Following the light
To someone new
Maybe a rescuer
Maybe a home
Or maybe simply
A light helping
Me to navigate
The craggy cliffs
Called love life
