Independence (for Muenster)

If there’s one

Thing that we

All strive for

From toddler to

Old age is

Independence from tyranny

And oppressive acts

I have gained

My independence many

Times but most

Importantly me choosing

Who I will

Love and how

I will love

Them forever more

Morning

Oh the morning

Is blue blue

Blue blue like

A Robins next

Surrounded by green

Such colors like

The wet pallet

Of a fresh

Artist crisp like

Jelly beans everything

Is sweet today

Even my eyes

Having been blessed

By this glory

HeadCold

I have been

Ill the past

Few days something

Common like heartbreak

But not as

Deadly more of

A head cold

Thinking about you

Followed by congestion

And hoarseness nothing

Comes out but

It’s all stuffed

Inside until the

Dam breaks and

Out it comes

In torrents breaking

Tempting even levees

EverAfter

Most are like

Hand puppets or

Toy trucks or

Dolls they’re nothing

Really without you

You give them

Voice and dreams

And life you

Give them sounds

And quests and

Adventure the whole

Fairytale ending and

Happily ever after

Children play with

Toys and dreams

Adults play with

Adults same dreams

Different voices all-together

StoreMore

And back again

To a clean

Blackboard and chalk

Drawing words and

Numbers and hopes

And punishment but

Fresh I am

To thinking that

Perhaps I’ve used

Up my stockpile

Of love that

Perhaps it’s time

To forage and

Store some more

For the next

Season when love

Will blossom again
