Sounds

I’m one that

Needs sounds silence

To me is

Like dirt thrown

Into a hole

I need music

Or chatter or

The birdied harmony

I need the

Sweet sounds of

Angels as I

Sleep the purrs

Of cats and

Bark of dogs

I need to

Hear my heart

Sing so sweetheart

Let me hear

Your laughter your

Tears and the

Sweetest of melodies

That you are

SingYourSong

And you’re quiet

Absent like a

Student from school

Your desk empty

Blue you said

Yet I worry

You’ll emerge again

Like the summer’s cicadas

Singing your melody

And making noise

Which is music

Only to me

Free

And yet sometimes

I’m just happy

Like snowflakes falling

Lazily on lawns

And careening like

Icy feathers knowing

That I’m free

At last to

Land

Sled

And so the

Sled slid down

The hill absent

Any riders careening

To the bottom

And splintering sending

Pieces in directions

Unable to put

Together remnants I

Decided to sled

Alone knowing that

At least I

Am stronger and

Knowing that I

Can pick myself

Up together unlike

Us the sled

WeWere

And so it

Was said into

A canyon for

The news wasn’t

Echoed but fell

Flat like a

Jumper leaping from

A building but

With less drama

Staring at me

With eyes that

Didn’t recognize you

Simply left unsaid

Now I sit

Silent staring myself

Onto the view

That we were
