Daybreak

Now dreams passed

Moving swiftly like

Gale force winds

Knocking down power

In darkness I

Sit finally hearing

The birds chirping

A new day

As the sky

Begins to glow

A warm blue

Oh I know

That dreams only

Ever stay asleep

And now awake

Day is true

Salvation has come

In this daybreak

SafeHarbor (to You)

Awakened and sweating

Unable to shake

The demon ravens

From my minds

Canopy they roost

Hiding in dreams

Which linger like

The bitter taste

Of some pill

I am reminded

That my dreams

Can break through

My slumber like

Thieves’s flashlights searching

For my sanity

Finding they crush

Rip and steal

Leaving me empty

Hollow and weeping

Until I turn

And remember you

My one reality

Bringing me back

To my world

Once again safe

Unable to sleep

Watching you breathe

Slowing my heart

To beat yours

Peace at last

Comes to me

My one anchor

Amidst stormy seas

Mooring me you

In safe harbor

Flight (for Bean)

And like dishes

And cups and

Plates we threw

What we were

At each other

Breaking and splintering

Everything to shards

Amidst the heap

We knew then

That the Humpty

Dumpty of us

Lay at feet

Months then passed

We moved on

And now like

A boomerang that

We tossed we

Return better for

The flight than

The crashing landing

Of the dishes

That we were

Magnets

You live life

I live mine

Circling like magnets

Some times opposed

Other times attracted

We dance there

Never ever sure

What the other

Will certainly do

Careless and carefree

Two of us

Here in space

Monkey (to Bean)

One of my

Favorite things is

You as child

Monkey they called

You not because

You resembled one

But because you

Scaled trees there

You’ve always been

The monkey to

My gorilla just

A couple of

Primates that people

Admire in public
