Saw

Up down
up down
goes round
child’s play
that is
until adults
adopt this
back forth
back forth
and play
becomes saw
to just
get through

Live

Who can
ever complain
living the
life that
they love
in the
way that
they dreamed
nobody does
did or
ever would
except those
who didn’t
don’t and
never will

Found

I have found
my canter my
rhythm my stride
and my stroll
no more hurrying
or running or
rushing to get
to somewhere anywhere
I’ve slowed down
but not slipped
or even settled
for those are
for broken things
but I rather
found my niche
my nest and
my lovely now

Ignored

A book opened
yet not read
my river of
words lay stagnant
pools gathering dust
a thin surface
atop what was
once teeming life
interrupted so often
by curious bubbles
of fish and
children wondering what
this even was
a book of
pages that no
one ever turned

Cloudy

How can the distance
between eye and mind
be so very far
just a few inches
but today it’s miles
I see of course
think I do not
but rather I stay
amidst the billowing clouds
just looking for sun
thank goodness my hands
know where they’re going
being familiar with you
and lips do too
