I prefer waving
from afar rather
than joining the
parade sitting here
under the maple
and wishing well
sipping on a
cool cocktail of
peace and calm
let others march
to the drums
of some cause
me I will
sit under shade
sip and cheer
knowing that they
like I once
had marched nowhere
until I took
a turn here

Wars
Putting my wars
to rest I
unwrap the last
of my bandages
and like a
surveyor study their
contours wondering how
given all these
I ever survived
the suffering blows
but remembering then
that these are
just flesh wounds
and the lethal
blows have always
been taken by
my delicate heart
Pennies
It is in
this then now
that I do
as I have
done and always
did this thing
of similar things
just me here
having already had
and like a
child counting pennies
I conclude that
I’m very rich
having collected as
many as I
have finally had
Enough
Enough is enough
has always been
a bad thing
but what if
enough was enough
and that was
not something that
someone else did
but rather you
Blues
Now when blue
comes to bathe
settling languidly on
my duvet cover
the white stripes
reflecting just like
your eyes do
of mine when
I look deeply
beyond your beautiful
browns and down
into your soul
seeing there too
this very blue
