Such

Sometimes I
wish but
then catch
I hesitate
wishing such
it’s loneliest
then wishing
such things
for such
must never
and then
just turn
into sighs

Why

Pressing freshly laundered
towels against face
listening to ocean
in sea shells
catching snow on
my outstretched tongue
hear a robin’s
song announcing spring
feeling the vines
of your arms
wind around me
these are things
that remind me
of just why

Miss (to Bean)

It’s this
I’ve written
a letter
to you
but

I can’t
find a
stamp which
to post
so

I read
it back
to myself
hoping you’ll
hear

Orange

Oh now
and not
like before
everything that
eyes see
is ablaze
in the
coldest orange
just think
of sherbet
like the
buildings aren’t
majestic enough
the mountains
remind that
they were
here first

Tulip

Don’t look
no don’t
let me
tell you
the low
east sun
ignites haze
hanging above
the mountains
glowing purple
then red
now orange
and finally
fresh yellow
a tulip
morning bouquet
