FirstNotFinally

My wish
for our
world is
that we’d
learn to
love ourselves
first before
ever trying
to love
another and
if not
then at
least before
it is
too late
and the
fruit we
are turns
bitterly bruised

Belonging

One rarely belongs
when one joins
joining simply reinforces
ones own uncertainty
belonging only ever
exists in oneself
many of one
only ever makes
itself a crowd
and a crowd
is never about
the lonely one
the lonely one
continues to be

HappyNewYear

Clocks keep ticking
years keep going
as another one
comes another goes
like the ocean
kissing the beach
on and on
and on until
we ourselves are
pulled to sea
so goes years
so very few
indeed so very
fast too a
blink of an
eye in time
cheers to 2024

Intimacy

Intimacy is knowing
and understanding that
which is known
intimacy is quiet
it whispers softly
between the two
it’s the wind
which moves the
summers willow branch
it’s the shush
of the same
and that sound
right before sleep
makes its claim

Canyon

Laying here thinking
looking at you
there and wondering
what if and
what now if
we have changed
each of us
but that change
rather than impediment
has become bridge
love does that
love does do
precisely preciously that
and if it
doesn’t then that
canyon was one
that was never
meant to cross
