I have an upstairs
neighbor that houses a
troupe of can-can dancers
in the off season
or so it sounds
and who practice every
day and every night
their kicks and thuds
and taps and spins
for I hear them
whereas I used to
get angry but now
I accept that I
am but an eight
year old boy sitting
beneath a gaggle of
gorgeous ladies peering up
albeit blindly but spying
nonetheless into a place
heretofore forbidden as no-no
it’s a lesson learned
that we all can
make the best out
of even the worst
of just about anything

You’rePerfect
I do think now
no longer feeling it
that loneliness as an
idea stems from a
lack of happiness with
oneself and a desire
for another’s attention to
somehow solve the question
why aren’t I happy
Why do you think
that God is single
after all it’s said
that we’re all created
in Its very image
God is single because
God is perfect just
the way It is
and logic insists that
if one’s a reflection
of another then are
they then not both
and not in need
of another or of
anything else at all
Fences
I have entertained
my wanderlust long
enough and found
that I find
most happiness when
I’m behind fences
freedom is fun
not very productive
I have wasted
time and money
looking looking looking
for something anything
in someone anyone
and the only
thing I found
is myself back
where I started
fences don’t prevent
they simply contain
my nature to
run somewhere anywhere
leading to nowhere
thinking…
I live
amongst words
but words
aren’t action
words may
propel or
even prevent
action but
action is
discipline standards
by which
we live
words may
herald sometimes
even warn
but actions
they move
words like
leaves shade
but actions
like fall
winds they
blow moving
the acorns
SwimSwimSwim
There’s a rhythm
less a beat
more a flow
in our lives
chaos feeds order
order to chaos
summer to fall
longing to love
love to loss
loss to longing
back to love
in the midst
is just us
standing mid stream
by currents unseen
as we wade
and sometimes swim
to the other
side that side
being opposite this
