When ocean is kidnapped
By clouds and carried
Thousands of miles away
And turned into snow
Does it ever know
That its only purpose
Is to witness a
Child’s burgeoning glee seeing
When leaves turn colors
After having enjoyed living
Green during the summer
Does it ever know
That by its fall
Will bring lovers close
Enough for a kiss
In life we go
About being one thing
Until that is we
See that all this
Was never really about
Us but of another
That we most certainly
Will never ever know
The simple statement
All is good
Is a blessing
To utter those
Is to understand
To have seen
And then accept
All is good
Manifests the Divine
Here on earth
Brings into being
Peace and calm
Kindness and compassion
Love and affection
I have endured a
Period of oppression I
Have kept my faith
I have seen humor
In the darkness like
A small sliver of
Sunlight I have outlasted
This three year night
I have made friends
Of my enemies and
Now at last I
Emerge back into light
Better because of it
Let me speak no
More of this with
Anyone except my God
For only He knows
And no one else
Will ever understand this
Oh the world thinks
That our own heartache
Is what cripples us
No it’s not that
What diminishes our ability
Is the insistent chipping
Piece by precious piece
Of our own hearts
When those other hearts
Stop beating simply because
They dared to love
Those that they loved
What is to become
Of us when we’re
No longer allowed to
Dance will we drift
Like jellyfish on ocean
Currents avoiding each other
For fear of stings
Nodding as we pass
One barely apparent one
To the other our
Desire nothing more than
Spiny secrets that drag
Behind leaving a wisp
Of what once was
