🦃

The day before
and I remember
an early snow
as I dollar
in hand crossed
the playground on
my way to
buy some milk
for the stuffing
I was twelve
and already thinking
remember this moment
for one day
far from now
and home this
will mean Thanksgiving

Winter

Winter has come
rain turned snow
just like tears
turn to ice
after years and
years of heartbreak
forest grows quiet
the tip taps
on leaves silence
replaced by crunch
of crumbs underfoot

Sins

Sage green linens
like ocean tides
push and part
upon golden sand
moist with humidity
that lands pooling
in divots where
the fish of
my fingers swim
and after they
draw like curtains
hiding the sins
of our skin

Diamonds

Saw the snow
as it came
across the plains
another cloud falling
after it shattered
dusting trees bushes
and my clothes
covering me in
pieces of white
there I stood
of little difference
dolloped in diamonds

Goes

Move about zip
around one place
or another sink
or bowl floor
or rug smooth
or plush on
I go with
my morning bee
bird and bath
bringing nectar back
too many mornings
so many days
so goes this
thing called life
