Gum

The sky
this morning
resembles that
chewing gum
long ago
I think
the one
with stripes
you know
which one
so juicy
so sweet
and chewy
just like
this very
early lazy
mountain day

Thimble

I do
so enjoy
this nothing
my notion
a thimble
of simple
is enough
of everything
my peace

Life

Me I
am not
haunted by
ghosts vestiges
of some
past trinkets
relics books
or baubles
pictures caged
in frames
of isolation
moments trapped
in the
snarls and
snares of
the jaws
of safekeeping
I rather
wander amongst
strangers of
the living
angels then
of the
future not
the fallen

True

If one
were true
there would
be no
need for
lies a
wheel that
is needs
no pedal
to turn

Afternoon

*sigh think
look far
off afield
at nothing
but wonder
feel breeze
bringing better
sun creeps
past eaves
its warmth
adds hope
it’s quiet
this wandering
and waning
summer afternoon
