what I don’t 
have is nothing 
you see having 
is far less 
more than nothing 
is ever no
nothing implies that 
something is missing 
whereas no only 
leads to yes
to one’s everything 

We attract 
that which
we are
not what 
we want 
or need
so be 
the thing 
that you 
desire others
to be 

She blossoms just 
once a year 
always around now 
during this season 
she sits quietly 
up on her 
perch in window 
waiting and watching 
time go by 
and by little 
orchid magic hangs
her own yellow 
and red ornament 
as if to 
say happy holidays 

If this 
isn’t Heaven 
then I 
don’t know 
where it
is or
how it 
could ever 
be better 
on judgement 
day just 
leave me 
here with 
my happiness 
I’ll take 
the next 
train home 

Distance does do 
what it’s meant 
it keeps things 
safely at bay 
but in that
space between you 
and them it
or whatever else 
grows wild perspective 
remember to stop 
taking it in
for its flowers 
are very rare
