I sit knowing
That you’re asleep
Curled like an
Infant under sheets
Dreaming of things
Even possibly me
Awaken to words
That dance like
Ballerinas across stage
Knowing that you’re
Here with me
And my coffee
Good morning sweetheart
I sit knowing
That you’re asleep
Curled like an
Infant under sheets
Dreaming of things
Even possibly me
Awaken to words
That dance like
Ballerinas across stage
Knowing that you’re
Here with me
And my coffee
Good morning sweetheart
And like origami
We started flat
And two dimensional
Then with our
Hands we have
Been fashioned into
Something beautiful like
Diamonds in mountains
We have discovered each
Other amidst boulders
And finally have
What we’ve always
Wanted for Christmas
The morning starts
Ghoulish with clouds
Hanging low like
A million spider
Webs everything is
Hazy like eyeglasses
Steamed from sipping
Hot coffee the
Air is heavy
With moisture like
The inside of
A dry cleaner
As bird song
Is muffled by
This heavy coat
I am older
And like last
Years bouquet of
Wildflowers I retain
My beauty though
Different my fragrance
Is gone but
The memories of
My gathering still
Blooms and then
One freshly cut
Bud is added
To me making
Me blossom again
Like the first
The night sky
Glows an iridescent
Blue like trout
Swimming in Colorado
Shimmering with the
Evening stars making
The horizon dance
Like the window
At Tiffany an
Orchestra of crickets
Chirp in harmony
As this new
Day slowly quietly
Twinkles to life
