Clouds above me

Swirl about like

Soapy suds swirling

Down the kitchen

Sink hawks soar

On invisible winds

High above as

Tall trees stand

Guard like thin

Helmeted soldiers or

Green umbrellas in

Fruity drinks the

Air is thick

With the stereo

Of bird calls

And tweets tickling

From afar as

Charlotte wakes up

DampCharlotte

There’s a dampness

This morning like

A freshly showered

Bathroom that hangs

Like freshly laundered

Shirts and misty

Spider webs cling

To tall trees

The air smells

Like wet cement

And dirt little

Glass ornaments teeter

On leaves and

Leap onto clothing

Saturating it duck

Calls echo in

The distance as

Charlotte awakens a

Freshly bathed child

MorningWithYou

Awake I am

Writing with you

Asleep around me

Your breathing shallow

Keeps time with

These words stirring

You feel my

Distance even in

Sleep rolling next

To me you

Grab my hand

Away from the

Keyboard placing it

Upon your chest

Where I feel

You beat this

Morning giving pause

To these words

Balloon

And today I

Feel like a

Balloon freed from

The grasp of

A child floating

Free high above

Things winds pushing

Me lifting me

The sun warm

On my round

Body up I

Climb up higher

Higher higher still

Carried over sea

Now descending low

Back to where

I belong as

A new found

Surprise for the

The grasping hand

Of another child

CrabbyCement

And like crabgrass

You found that

One crack in

My cement and

Wheedled your way

Into my heart

Never the same

For now you

Are here giving

Me your color

Joined we are

Together we’ll be

One just solid

The other beautiful
