Daybreak

Now dreams passed

Moving swiftly like

Gale force winds

Knocking down power

In darkness I

Sit finally hearing

The birds chirping

A new day

As the sky

Begins to glow

A warm blue

Oh I know

That dreams only

Ever stay asleep

And now awake

Day is true

Salvation has come

In this daybreak

SafeHarbor (to You)

Awakened and sweating

Unable to shake

The demon ravens

From my minds

Canopy they roost

Hiding in dreams

Which linger like

The bitter taste

Of some pill

I am reminded

That my dreams

Can break through

My slumber like

Thieves’s flashlights searching

For my sanity

Finding they crush

Rip and steal

Leaving me empty

Hollow and weeping

Until I turn

And remember you

My one reality

Bringing me back

To my world

Once again safe

Unable to sleep

Watching you breathe

Slowing my heart

To beat yours

Peace at last

Comes to me

My one anchor

Amidst stormy seas

Mooring me you

In safe harbor

Nightmare

My dreams haunted

Me with cruelty

Of people pursuing

And of torture

Me a loving

Man I wonder

What dreams mean

Unable to sleep

Wallowing in meanness

And abject inhumanity

I pray to

My Heavenly Father

To hear the

Sweet angelic lullabies

PatiencePeace

I was blessed

With peace but

Patience not that

I prayed for

Now I have

It and understand

The calmness both

Bring waiting is

A profound blessing

I learned that

It’s best to

Allow a River

To free itself

From a logjam

Rather than me

Jumping pounding stomping

On the trees

Let the flow

Of your life

Free itself from

Complications have patience

To gain peace

GoodMorning

And now the

Birds outside my

Windows have begun

To sing the

Tickling morning melodies

Awakening a sleepy

Saul who is

Stretching and yawning

Soft crimson east

Beyond the trees

Like the aroma

Of apple pie

Wafting through checker

Curtained kitchen windows

Or like your

Rough shadow as

It brushes against

My cheek kissing

Me good morning
