Awakened and sweating
Unable to shake
The demon ravens
From my minds
Canopy they roost
Hiding in dreams
Which linger like
The bitter taste
Of some pill
I am reminded
That my dreams
Can break through
My slumber like
Thieves’s flashlights searching
For my sanity
Finding they crush
Rip and steal
Leaving me empty
Hollow and weeping
Until I turn
And remember you
My one reality
Bringing me back
To my world
Once again safe
Unable to sleep
Watching you breathe
Slowing my heart
To beat yours
Peace at last
Comes to me
My one anchor
Amidst stormy seas
Mooring me you
In safe harbor
