Lover(s)

I dreamt of

Lovers past and

Present they brought

Me joy like

That first snowfall

In late November

Full of wonderment

And awe like

That first tickling

Ahh upon dipping

Toes in a

Cool Wisconsin lake

And warmth like

That cabin fire

In Vermont after

An afternoon of

Sledding I awoke

Nestled beneath comforters

Knowing that I

Was loved and

In turn loved

Attraction

Remember don’t find

Someone attractive in

The hopes of

Loving them love

Them and you

Will always find

Them irresistibly attractive

MorningWithYou

Awake I am

Writing with you

Asleep around me

Your breathing shallow

Keeps time with

These words stirring

You feel my

Distance even in

Sleep rolling next

To me you

Grab my hand

Away from the

Keyboard placing it

Upon your chest

Where I feel

You beat this

Morning giving pause

To these words

LovePoem#211

Oh Lord your

Eyes are deep

Earthly rich pools

In which I

Dip and plant

My heart in

Their soil watching

Your smiles grow

Like sunflowers spreading

Across the plains

Of your cheeks

Your teeth as

White as a

Harvest moon guides

Me to bed

And your open

Arms envelope me

Like the airy

Limbs of the

Rivers weeping willows

NightTime

The night outside

Glows through the

Slats of window

Softly as though

My yard had

Been blanketed by

A midnight snowfall

Or like Venus

Hailing its moon

To cool my

Night in subtle

Shades of blue

And gray as

I recall that

One night in

Curitiba on the

Beach as low

Tide tickled the

Sandbar beneath your

Naked silhouette while

The Orange dawn

Broke yellow upon

Your brown skin
