Go

Sometimes it’s best
to let go
to set free
better to unhitch
and unhook than
break for anything
ever once broken
isn’t going to
be whole again

Going

No word not
so much as
a peep crickets
and rusty hinges
beg for more
attention bills to
pay do too
but you you
just disappear like
the gift never
received like that
summer beach novel
romance just like
that you do
maybe to the
bottom of an
empty bottle or
bag of weed
or something more
nefarious like kidnapping
or witness protection
but likely it’s
just your angst
and your conviction
that your madness
is finally showing
best to go

Twilight

And this now
nights last little
bit of twilight
when sleepy things
ever do sleep
and other things
slowly do awaken
that life it
seems to me
goes from peace
to a chaos
a change from
dark to light
much like I
imagine one does
when passing over
the threshold from
life to death

LittleLeaf (to Bean)

I see you
there for here
I have too
sleeping on side
and then stomach
tossing and turning
like a leaf
in the corner
caught in whirlwind
of some dream
or of fall
and all you
have ever wanted
oh little leaf
is to find
a landing place
a soft spot
upon to rest
before you take
your next step
becoming a tree

Denver

By now
early sun
is high
in sky
and the
bony knuckles
of buildings
press against
the flesh
of sky
as the
mountains frame
this landscape
painting outside
my window
