Trinket treasure or
trove the soul
is forever searching
what value you
find belongs to
it for life
is but one
big adventure looking
for nothing more
than buried booty
left behind by
you in one
of your many
marvelous lives before
Delicate
My favorite ones
are delicate ones
be they bubbles
baubles or bumbles
for each in
their very own
oft simple way
bring to me
and to mind
the quietest kind
of tickling joy
which I know
now as glee
and glee at
least to me
is the laughter
of the cherubs
Dreams (to Bean)
I missed
the sunrise
deciding to
dream late
about you
day will
as day
always does
but dreams
of you
well they
rarely do
Summer
And in summer
when such things
slow even touch
flowers having bloomed
bask in sunlight
and even rain
enjoys its dance
summer is when
kisses come in
parks and beaches
and boats that
slide across ponds
promises made then
last little longer
summer is when
dreams come true
Independence
Gaining ones independence
whether from tyranny
outside limiting freedoms
or from tyranny
inside limiting expression
is an age
old struggle not
limited to humans
for even animals
shed themselves of
things no longer
deemed necessary horns
cocoons skin domestication
I suggest that
we take examples
from animal brethren
when we determine
whether to remain
or remove and
move forward anew
at the highest
price of uncertainty
