What I have 
decided is to
give my body
to myself my
heart to my
friends and my 
mind to the 
world but my 
soul will remain 
with the Universe 

It is I
it not only 
is its time 
but place too
not by chance 
but by right 
and by reason 
for having given 
a lifetime to 
others it’s only 
fair that what 
I now have 
left should be 
mine and I 
and also ours 
for I am 
so many glorious 
things to me 

After a long life
I have finally realized 
that it is I
who makes me happy 
happier and happily happiest 
and that the others 
whilst fun and entertaining 
could never take root 
leaving me with only 
one season whereas I 
bear fruit on command 
not because I must 
but because I do 
I will always do 

When you returned 
so did noise 
and noise now 
is often irritating 
whereas before it
was exciting I
have discovered that 
silence is the 
lagoon where peace 
and serenity swim 
it is absence 
from the sound 
of gears grinding 
I have once 
again switched off 
the machine and 
found my way
back through the 
pass of aloneness 
shedding distractions clothes 
swimming naked in 
a pond called 
me myself I 

Focus on you
let others go 
about their business 
of distracting themselves 
with others who 
are also distracting 
and on and 
on they go 
calling that life
that it isn’t 
life is you 
and never them
or they or
whomever whatever else 
catches their eye
